*On January 01. 2006. ~The Article 269.~ of the Criminal Law of Serbia>was put on power. The Article 269. defines every abuse over any animal-as crime, and the Law defines that perpetrators may be punished with prison sentence (up to 3 years). Even though~ the Article 269.~ is written to protect animals – still is NOT widely introduced and citizens are simply not aware of Article 269.
*Why Independents Animal Rights Activists do NOT support the strategy of must do-Micro-chipping of Dogs in
Why Micro-chip is not the answer?
2.Micro-chip CAN NOT PROTECT A DOG FROM GETTING LOST, micro-chip CAN NOT PROTECT THE DOG FROM BEING KILLED.
4exmpl : If someone wants to get rid of the dogs, he will use a sharp object/knife is mostly used-and can dig up the micro chip- its under the skin, and throw a dog on one side and throw a chip in river (an expert in field of microchips and in the explained that micro chip for this purpose is in vain, micro chips can trigger inflammatory reactions- as body tend to get rid off it; most 3sfter war countries –like Serbia have very poor quality microchips- and reports from vets came that many broke during the "installation"… And one of the reasons is that many guardians refuse to have a microchip in their dog/cat- people are just aware as they all heard about the human microchip and they are afraid that if they accept this- the next step is human micro chipping.. They are not far away from the truth..
MESSURES WHICH CAN PROTECT A DOG FROM GETTING LOST OR BEING KILLED:
*KEEP YOUR DOG ALWAYS NEAR YOU- IF YOU ARE ABOUT TO LEAVE A DOG UNGUARDED- PLACE A GPS LOCATOR ON HIS COLLAR.
*Tattoo number- (if someone wants to read a number- he will read a number in any form or shape) tattoo might be placed anywhere on the dog, (ears mostly, inside a leg...)
*Info Patrons- to be placed on dog/cat collars (they contain all information about dog –name, is he diabetic, or has epilepsy-or is on special diet or on medications, info about the "owner" and his contacts.
* "Talking" collar, there is a small tape recording device-on which all information's needed can be recorded; it can be attached to the collar- it looks cool ;-)
*And best gadget for every "owner/guardian" to keep his animal companion always in the range where he can reach him> is GPS LOCATOR> http://www.truveo.com/Zoombak-Advanced-GPS-Dog-Locator/id/2321350918 , http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0INYjt-2QGs
*Treatment of abandoned Animals (Dogs and Cats) by authorities and veterinary stations throughout
*Organizations, Institutions and citizens from around the World offered to help in implementation of humane methods for stray animal population, but no efforts to stop the killings from Serbian government were made. On the contraire, Serbian government has ignored them...(read more...)
